George Siemens states in his paper on success and strategy in a digital world that the heart of the issue is about organizational change. He thinks we are at a stage where universities, corporations, and other organizations have to start looking at the long-term cycle of change we are currently experiencing. Blogs, wikis, and web 2.0 are only the current instantiation of change. What’s required is a “re-think” of what organizations are…and how employees/faculty and learners/customers are connected to each other. We’ve had five years of web 2.0 window dressing. It’s time to build a new structure.
