“In an increasingly complex and competitive world, teachers must understand technology and connect coursework to the global economy, curricula should eliminate less relevant material and incorporate modern skills such as global awareness, technology and media literacy, and standardized tests must include these new subjects”.

This article from Kyle Cheney touches upon the very essence of the problems we face today. Still, it remains very general. The last two years I have worked a lot with the concept of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Personally, I am interested in ICT tools that can help integrate ESD in curricula. You can find out more about this on my personal ESD research platform.

This is the type of research I aim to do… determine how ICT can help education…
• To be interdisciplinary and holistic
• To be values-driven
• To promote critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Center on a systems thinking approach
• To use multi-method approaches
• To encourage and stress participatory decision-making responsibility
• That is locally relevant and culturally appropriate
