Blackboard versus Open Source

The Chronicle of Higher Education has an interesting article on Blackboard versus Open Source. Apparently, Open Source systems like Moodle and Sakai have finally grown up and have actually started to pose a serious challenge to Blackboard.

No wonder Blackboard has started to design connectors to integrate with both systems. It seems Blackboard has finally adopted the approach of using openness as a competative leverage point.
